Bust of Ioannis Kapodistrias in Aegina Town
In the small park located in the area of Panagitsa, we admire the bust of Ioannis Kapodistrias, a monument in honor of the first governor of the modern Greek state.
Besides, the entire city of Aegina bears witness to the important role of the island in modern Greek history. Here we admire the Kapodistrian buildings, such as the Eynard School, the Orphanage and the Governor’s House, which pop up here and there, and take us back to the time when Aegina was the first capital of the newly established Greek state.
