In Anitseo you forget you are in Aegina. This, in itself, is a challenge. It is one of Aegina’s most remote villages, with its own unique character.

Anitseo is situated at an altitude of 230 meters and is therefore suitable both for a cool break in the heat of summer and for excursions during the rest of the year. The trip alone is worth it for the view it offers so make sure to have your camera ready!

Here abound many species of flora that you don’t encounter elsewhere in Aegina. Also bird watching, which gains more and more fans, is one of its strong points: partridges, song thrushes, woodcocks and quail are just some of the birds that you can see close up.

Anitseo is the starting point of two hiking trails, a fact which attracts more and more hiking enthusiasts.

The village has a central church and a mill, testimony to its inhabitants’ agricultural past, while its houses, especially the older ones, stand out for their architecture.
The village is famous for its food. Not to be omitted!
