Agia Marina
Agia Marina
If you are looking for the quintessential sandy beach in Aegina, Agia Marina is your destination. It is the most famous beach on Aegina, boasting the longest sandy coast (500 m.), the definition of organized beach and ideal for water sports and families.
Owing to its shallow waters it seems ideal for hours of fun and relaxation for the young and old. Apart from the main beach, there are many isolated bays where you can dive from wonderful rocks, test your mettle in scuba diving and find the peace you seek.
You can arrive by car (or local bus) heading east from the port of Aegina for 14 km, while it is also directly accessible from the port of Piraeus.
Dining options are countless as beach bars, tavernas and ouzo bars span the entire length of the coastal road and beyond.
At one end of the beach, you can visit the chapel of Agia Marina, which every year on July 17 celebrates with a local folk festival (the festival takes place on the previous day).
Bonus Tip: Following the main road of the island towards Agia Marina, make a stop to admire the Temple of Aphaia, one of the best preserved ancient Greek temple samples and the jewel of Aegina. Follow us on Instagram for photos of Agia Marina!
