The first building one encounters upon arriving at the port of the island is the mansion of the merchant Konstantinos Vogiatzis from Symi, built in 1880.
Behind the Heroes’ Square in Aegina Town is the house of Kanaris, the home of the hero of the Greek War of Independence, a sample of simple neoclassical architecture.
Some more characteristic neoclassical buildings are the Kapodistrian buildings, such as the Governor’s House, the Municipal Theater and the Eynard School.
Among the wonderful neoclassical buildings that we admire in Aegina Town is the house of Eleni Kalliga-Mailli, owner of the Skoufa gallery.
