With a history dating back to 1968, Taverna Tassos in Marathonas, Aegina continues the tradition of authentic Greek cuisine on the island of Aegina. Decades have passed since grandfather Tassos Pitsilos, with hard work and true passion, created one of Aegina’s oldest restaurants, built on the finest ingredients from the family garden, grandmother Maria’s beloved recipes, and the care of the family’s four sons.
For the past 10 years, grandson Tassos has been passionately taking care of every guest’s dining experience with the same love and dedication.

Why Tassos
Because here, you can sit back and relax from early morning until late at night, enjoying a drink right by the sea, with your feet in the sand. Take a swim and return to your table just as your food is being served.
The setting is beautiful, recently renovated, and thoughtfully designed with exceptional aesthetics.
The ingredients used in every dish are carefully selected and mostly sourced directly by the family. Vegetables come from their own garden, meats from their butcher shop “Tzonis,” and fresh fish arrives daily by fishing boat. Naturally, every dish is handmade.
This is a family-run restaurant that has honored tradition for three generations, placing great importance on hospitality and service — something you’ll feel from the very first moment.
