The sculpture of Kontovrakis in the fish market

The sculpture of Nektarios Kontovrakis in the fish market is another work of art that we can admire in the city of Aegina. It is a modern sculpture crafted by the local artist, which represents on its two sides two female figures inspired by the mythology of the island, two goddesses, Aphaea and Aegina.

The sculpture is located in the garden of the fish market and is made of metal and a pine log, which has been on the site for many years. The trunk was rooted in the earth but it was dry and the artist worked on it and created the sculpture. Its presence in the public space of Aegina puts its own stone in the upgrading of the island.
