Last weekend Aegina was celebrating its 9th Aegina Pistachio Festival. The Aeginian pistachio has its own festival including cultural events, trade fair, gastronomy, kids’ entertainment, music, dancing and competitions!
I knew all of these before, as many of you do too, but why was that weekend so special, I couldn’t tell… So I tried to think of the reasons and here you go:
Why Aegina Pistachio Festival?
- It is the best opportunity for a semi-summery excursion before the autumn chills
- Because you have the chance to taste the famous pistachio nut in so many alternatives and other local products – tasting is free!
- You will see Aegina at its best
- For live music concerts, fireworks, bar-hopping and dancing all night – watch happy people enjoying their night
- Because you feel like discovering Aegina’s historic and artistic side by joining respective activities
- Because kids love it! Storytelling, painting, theatre, activities, face-painting and the list goes on
- Because in September the sea is perfect – no wind and crystal-clear waters.
